Today’s words are natural features of the Earth’s surface, such as a mountain, lake, or river. These different features are called landforms.
archipelago [ ahr-kuh–pel–uh-goh ] 群岛
a large group or chain of islands

bay [ bey ] 海湾
A bay is a body of water forming an indentation of the shoreline.
The bay is a great place for fishing.
cave [ keyv ] 山洞
A cave is a large hole in the side of the cliff or hill, or one that is under the ground.
This cave is very long and dark.
glacier [ gley-sher ] 冰川
A glacier is an extremely large mass of ice which moves very slowly, often down a mountain valley.
Global warming is a threat to glaciers.
iceberg [ ahys-burg ] 冰山
An iceberg is a large tall mass of ice floating in the sea.
On the top, icebergs may look small but under the water they could be very large and dangerous.
